Google has revealed their bad ad statistics this week and according to them over 3.2 million ads were removed over the period which means almost 100 ads removed per second. This is also almost double the number removed in 2016 and 4 times that of 2015. These ads were removed because they did not adhere to the Google policies. Google has an army of 180 filters to catch the invading infiltrant web traffic and other frauds. Also they have special filters designed for policy violations, such as “clickbait,”. Clickbaits are ads that trick people into installing unwanted software or ads that direct people to malware-laden websites.

According to Google they have taken down
– 79 million ads that was sending users to malware-laden sites
– 400,000 malware sites
– 66 million “trick-to-click” ads
– 48 million ads that caused unwanted software installation

In addition to this Google has also removed 320,000 ad publishers from their ad network. They have also banned close to 90,000 websites and 700,000 mobile apps from displaying google ads.

According to Scot Spencer, Google’s director of sustainable ads “After expanding our policy against dangerous and derogatory content in April 2017 to cover additional forms of discrimination and intolerance, we removed Google ads from 8,700 pages [that] violated the expanded policy,”.
